We breed occasionally for sound temperament, health and structure in according with AKC Portuguese Water Dog Standard and recommendations of Portuguese Water Dog Club of America (www.pwdca.org) of which we're members since 2004. We may have a litter of puppies once per year or less frequently. Puppies are whealped and are 100% "homegrown". When they are about 3 weeks old we move them to the middle of our family room, so they can be exposed to everything what's going on, and socialized with close and extended family members and friends on daily basis. As soon as pups weaned from their mom, we feed them only natural diet (goat milk, cottage cheese, raw ground vincent, turkey necks, etc.) because we believe this is much better nutritional start for a puppy than dry kibble. At 7 weeks of age we temperament-test a litter to evaluate each puppy' type and best match with potential puppy owners.

On June 19, 2009 Sofia and Deuce (AM/CAN/INT'L CH Drigtwood's Bacchus Dos CGC/TDI) had a singleton litter (one lovely puppy-girl "irish" black with white markings). It was quiet a surprise for us after such a crowd of 10 puppies last year! But this pup is worth all 10! She's very smart, playful and confident girl getting all the attention of her canine and human families!

On June 8, 2008 Sofia whelped a litter of 10 lovely pups with Deuce (AM/CAN/INT'L CH Drigtwood's Bacchus Dos CGC/TDI). We got both boys and girls, curlies and wavies, "irish" and black with white markings. Please contact us if you want to have a puppy from this litter.

On May 18, 2007 Sofia had her first litter with the famous Jack (BISS CH Watermark Toby's Black Jack, AWD, CGC) - five healthy pups, 3 girls and 2 boys, black and black with white markings, wavies and curlies. When time came they all went to live with their new wonderful families in VA, MD and TX. Occasionally we recieve funny stories and pictures of them from their new owners, and very thankful for these sweet updates!
